Current Distractions, July 2017 Edition

Well, today is supposed to be a scorcher and also I have lots to do (including lounging on my deck for an hour or so), so this post is going to be a short one. No surprise there I'm sure.

Overall I haven't consumed a whole lot of media this month. I've been trying to make the most of the nice weather and although that has meant the occasional afternoon reading on my deck, my reading has been consumed by one particular book, as you'll soon see.

Watching

Brooklyn 99
Have I gushed about this series enough yet?

The X-Files
My mom and I just started watching Season 10 of The X-Files, which you may remember me raving about when I did a complete (re)watch of the series several years ago. I'm not sure what I'm going to think about it, and may need to rewatch it all over again if the new stuff is too terrible, but here we go. The first episode was enh.

Reading

I've read/am reading two things that I won't be reviewing until my end of year round up: the Lilith's Brood trilogy by Octavia E. Butler, and Richard III by William Shakespeare. Lilith's Brood is super long, so that has taken up most of my non-blog-related fiction reading time this month. Richard III is kind of confusing, so it's taking me forever, which of course is less than ideal when it comes to reading a play.
