Curse you, Wikipedia!

But based on your Pride and Prejudice recommendation, I may have to move it up my "to be read" list.

Also, thanks for the comment! :)M.R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11925634583709978628noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7227487555626690593.post-51617420855963993652011-10-25T13:23:22.822-06:002011-10-25T13:23:22.822-06:00If you found Persuasion funny and enjoyable, you a...If you found Persuasion funny and enjoyable, you are going to have so much fun with Pride and Prejudice - it's simply fantastic and the best worked out of all Austen's novels. I never knew, either, that she was dying while writing Persuasion so I shall stop being quite so critical of it in the future!Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16375251985012080277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7227487555626690593.post-4838792407594495182011-10-18T12:40:49.794-06:002011-10-18T12:40:49.794-06:00God I love Kate Beaton. I'm not particularly familiar with anything else Jane Austen has written (though I have seen the P&P miniseries, ok, a few times), though I have a lot of regard for her. She gets a bad rap from all sorts of people, namely bros or prof-bros who disregard lady-written books about 'lady' things, but her social commentary is pretty stellar. I also think it'd be a shame to talk about Jane Austen without mentioning Kate Beaton's hilarious comics about her.
